Operation Bathroom Remodel

Over Christmas we got the inspiration from my aunt and uncle to begin the dreaded and fun (all at the same time) bathroom remodel.  They recently had completed their bathroom and it looked amazing.  As many of you know, most of our house needs a facelift so the bathroom sounded like a perfect winter job.  During the remodel I determined a few things (I already knew them but it was confirmed).  The choices are very limited in Alaska (even though we are in Anchorage), I am spoiled from Portland and yes, picky so get ready to shop - shop, be creative and drive Ryan nuts.  And EVERYTHING is double the price!

The completion took much longer than anticipated between a surgery, work, amazing weather and other projects I think we are finally to a point we can show the results.  I'm still shopping for a couple of those perfect art pieces but that always takes patience and time.

Looking at the final project from the hallway.

Oh yes, she was beautiful!  Straight out of the 80's oak!  I think I must deleted a bunch of the before pictures by accident because they are no where to be found.  Including the demolition (my favorite part).

The lovely blue tub - after I tore out the elk, deer and moose tiles.

The brain storming process.

More brainstorming.

The mess of Joni painting - out with the oak (and hopefully that lovely green carpet soon) in with a fresh coat of primer and paint for a fraction of the price then to replace the vanity.

In the process - before the new pulls on the cabinets and the tile floor.

The fun of living in a remodel zone. Before the new vanity top was installed and old mirrors were still up.

Slab of quartz installed, sinks and faucet in and mirrors before I started to experiment.

In the middle of the tile job.

Mirror paint job completed.  New lighting - can lights on the ceiling and new sconces.

Cabinets and floor completed.

Tile job completed with beveled white subways and tub refinished.
