Spring Migration

A juvenile female moose at Potter's Marsh.

The boardwalk allows up close viewing opportunities, but it is rare to see a moose this close here.

The snow geese moved in heavy this past week. Before the little green shoots even see the sunlight, these guys pluck them and their roots from the mud.

A pair of geese and a flock of landing mallards.

This guy has been rooting around in the mud pretty seriously.

Most of the geese were grazing right along side of the highway and the railroad tracks. Birds up here aren't the brightest, especially this time of year. After a long journey north, all they care about is eating and making babies...sound familiar?
