Snow Machining and Yard Sales

This weekend has a busy one and quite productive.  We went snow machining at Hatchers Pass which like all of Alaska is some of the most beautiful landscape that you will ever see.  The country is VERTICAL with amazing peaks.

Hatchers Pass is named after a miner and you see mines on the hillsides, many of them not you can snowshoe or cross country ski to.  They have a cute lodge and have little cabins you can stay in.  Originally, we tried to get a cabin but they we full so we will have to try again later.

I have to say that I was disappointed when I downloaded the pictures today and saw that we didn't come close to capturing the true beauty of the sunny beautiful day.  Plus we simply didn't take many pictures at all.  Oh well, I guess we will have to head back soon and that "fancy camera" that we talk about maybe getting nearer.

SCORE!! Ryan is excited because I now have to sweep, start and plug-in my car to go to work in the morning, that's ok because the garage has been taken over by stuff until we move to our new house. That's right the pickup and trailer filled to the top from a yard sale!  Like when we moved up here, many people sell almost everything to move back to the lower 48 and we found a good one this weekend.   Last weekend at Costco Ryan was looking at some really nice shelving units that were $10 off and he was excited about that, well on Craigslist I found those same exact ones at a yard sale - three shelving units for the price of one and we found a lot of other things.  Including: a gun safe, full patio set, patio heater, house plants, shelves, free yard tools, crates full of spray paints, stains, glue, sawhorses and MUCH more!
